For my personal project, I wanted to design a magazine called micromedia. This magazine would feature articles related to students of the program(Capython event, Vernissage, Graduation).
I started by researching different visual styles, but I found it difficult to settle on just one. Then I remembered a magazine that Barry mentioned called Raygun, known for its experimental layouts and lack of a consistent cover style. That inspired me to embrace a similar approach. I decided on a grungy and whimsical aesthetic. I also wanted each issue to evoke specific emotions, sometimes with a twist. For example, the graduation issue was meant to represent happiness, but I gave it an apocalyptic tone. The Vernissage cover aimed to express pride in one’s work, yet I designed it to feel lonely.
I was also supposed to design an example spread for each magazine but I did not have the time.
